elizabeth gilbert does it again…
by clare

Many of you recognize this cover- many of you probably own it- and those of you who have read it (some of us, multiple times) know the excitement I feel regarding the upcoming movie! None other than the lovely and talented Julia Roberts will star as the author herself, so I am bursting with anticipation to see it.

Have any of you read the latest book by Elizabeth Gilbert… Committed? I have somehow fallen off the wagon. This book has been out since Jan. 15th, and I still have yet to acknowledge it’s presence. Her PR people must be laying down on the job. Anyway, I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy PRONTO and delve into this one. I am very interested as to how SUCH a skeptic has given way to the idea of marriage! Thoughts on this one, PLEEEEEASE! Without giving anything away of course.
Until next time…

Haven’t read… I’m just hooked on all the dead guys! But, I do want to read the first one before I see that movie and you have me interested in the second.
I listened to it in CD version on a trip down to Tampa. I actually was expecting not to like it, even though I adore EPL. I have such an opposite view from her regarding marriage, in other words, an extremely positive view, that I almost didn’t read this one at all. But thank goodness I did. It is very enlightening. She does such a good job of melding research with personal experience. It really pulls you in and keeps you interested. The research isn’t super in-depth, but she never claims to be an expert or to have completed a thorough study. However, she provides some really great insights into marriage and relationships in general over history, throughout different countries, and in both gay and straight situations. I would certainly recommend it. And I am so excited about the movie too! Did you see them on Oprah? I am so bummed I missed it.
Awesome! I cannot wait to read it! I missed it on Oprah, too. darn.
I have read it, and it was good, but I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as Eat, Pray & Love. I have it though, so if you haven’t already gotten it, let me know and I’ll bring it by to you!
Thanks, Tiffany! I would love that!
